For Paige Anderson, some of the rail industry's most important work happens long before construction begins.

Whether she's helping clients navigate environmental regulations, assessing project impacts, or identifying practical solutions to complex challenges, Paige plays a key role in keeping critical rail infrastructure projects moving forward.

That’s why she was recognized with a Women in Rail Engineering Award from Railway Track & Structures. The annual recognition honors women who have made significant contributions to railroad engineering through their industry experience, leadership, and impact on the profession.

A senior team leader, Paige is a trusted advisor to Class I railroads across the country. During her 13 years with Olsson, she has provided environmental permitting and compliance support for more than 1,300 rail projects, helping clients advance bridge replacements, capacity improvements, yard expansions, and other critical infrastructure investments.

Her expertise spans projects across 22 states including permitting and environmental analysis for rail clients Through that work, Paige has built a reputation for helping clients understand complex environmental requirements and identifying practical pathways forward.

"What I enjoy most about this work is helping people solve problems," Paige said. "Regulations are constantly evolving, and our role is to help clients understand what those changes mean, identify a path forward, and keep projects moving while doing the right thing environmentally."

In addition to her technical expertise, the award recognizes Paige for her leadership. She leads a multidisciplinary group of environmental professionals, engineers, and technicians who work together to support rail clients nationwide.

"The people and opportunities I've had at Olsson are a big part of why I've stayed," Paige said. "I never expected my career path to look exactly like it does today, but I've learned that some of the best opportunities come from being willing to try something new and staying open to where it might lead."
