Olsson project recognized by ACEC Colorado

(November 20, 2025) – A project in suburban Denver has earned an Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) – Colorado. The award recognizes projects that showcase “an exceptional degree of innovation, complexity, achievement and value.”

In the water resources category, Olsson has received an Award of Merit for engineering services performed at the Ralston Creek at Croke Canal. This award recognizes projects for their “extraordinary engineering solutions.”

"It’s a great area for the community to walk through and for kids to play in.”

Project Manager Jenna Phillips used her expertise to revitalize the cherished creek. Today, she loves to visit with her family.

“We helped to open the area up, put in a larger bridge, and lower the water surface elevation and increase the flood capacity for the channel through there,” she said. “Now, it’s a great area for the community to walk through and for kids to play in.”

In the video, Jenna caught up with ACEC Colorado to discuss the award-winning project and its impact.

Project submissions were judged by a panel of industry professionals who evaluate uniqueness, future value to the engineering profession, complexity, sustainable considerations and the successful fulfillment of client needs.
