Olsson’s engineering internship program ranks top 10 in the nation

Olsson’s engineering internship program has been ranked seventh in the country.

Career consulting company Vault surveyed more than 17,000 current and former interns from more than 200 internship programs, evaluating areas such as career development, employment prospects, quality of life, compensation and workplace culture.

“Our goal is to give students an experience that helps them grow, both professionally and personally.”

Olsson Student Program Leader Haley Christensen says Olsson interns don’t spend the summer watching from the sidelines. They work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real projects and get a firsthand look at what a career in engineering and design can offer.

“Our goal is to give students an experience that helps them grow, both professionally and personally,” she said. “They’re doing real work, learning from people across Olsson and building relationships along the way. Hearing that our interns value that experience through this recognition is extremely rewarding.”

A flexible environment, teamwork, and meaningful work is what stood out to many Olsson interns in the Vault survey responses.

“The culture is awesome at my internship. I enjoy going to work…They are flexible if I need to take time off for any reason,” said one intern about their summer at Olsson.

The firm employed nearly 200 interns this summer from about 40 schools across the country. Olsson offers internships in a variety of disciplines from engineering and design to technology, environmental sciences, field services, landscape architecture, and more.

“Interns bring questions, curiosity, and momentum that push all of us to keep learning and improving."

“We are always asking what we can improve, what we can add, and how we can make the experience even better for the next group of interns,” said Kelsey Cox, a recruiting specialist.

Senior Team Leader Wyatt Popp says the energy interns bring to his team has a real impact too.

“Interns bring questions, curiosity, and momentum that push all of us to keep learning and improving,” he said.

Olsson was also honored in several categories by Vault including:
