Jeff Morrison has been selected as the 2026 Young Professional of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Nebraska. The award recognizes exceptional engineers under age 35 who demonstrate outstanding technical ability, leadership and meaningful community impact across the state.
During his 11 years at Olsson, Jeff has advanced some of Nebraska’s most high‑impact civil and infrastructure projects. He served as lead civil engineer for Lincoln’s first hyperscale data center — a landmark regional project requiring precise coordination, innovative engineering and rigorous technical standards. His work also supported critical healthcare growth for local organizations including Madonna Rehabilitation Center and Tabitha.
“Jeff is a leader who brings both technical excellence and a deep sense of responsibility to the communities he serves.”
“Jeff is a leader who brings both technical excellence and a deep sense of responsibility to the communities he serves,” said Brad Marshall, senior team leader. “He fosters collaboration, mentors young professionals and consistently delivers work that positively impacts Nebraska. Jeff’s ability to align client objectives with broader community needs sets him apart as a leader who truly understands the value of engineering.”
Jeff says mentorship has played a pivotal role in his personal and professional life.
“While I’m humbled to receive this honor, it is not a personal achievement, but a reflection of incredible mentors who have invested in my growth, co-workers who support our team every day, and a company that provides meaningful opportunities to learn, lead, and make an impact.”
Jeff’s passion for making a positive impact doesn’t end at work, either. He has coached his daughters’ soccer team for three years running, serves with his church, and volunteers at the Cornhusker State Games.
“I love coaching my daughter’s soccer team and seeing them build friendships,” he said. “Sports teach teamwork and discipline that carry through life. They taught me, and now my daughters, that what you get out of something is directly tied to the effort you put in.”
Whether it’s on a project, volunteering in his community, or early mornings at the golf course, you can count on Jeff to put the effort in.
“Beyond his professional achievements, Jeff actively seeks opportunities to improve lives, not only through engineering solutions but also through his dedication to helping those in need,” Brad said. “His influence reaches beyond technical work, making him one of the most respected engineers I have worked with throughout my career.”
Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Nebraska, Iowa, Georgia and Oregon.
