Celebrating engineers who transform communities

Engineers Week is an opportunity to celebrate how engineers make a difference and to share the importance of engineering careers with students. In honor of this year’s national E-Week theme, Transform Your Future, we are highlighting projects that transform communities for the better.

"Engineering doesn’t just shape our world – it shapes our opportunities, our communities, and the futures we can imagine for ourselves and our children.”

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) says, “This year’s theme is a powerful reminder that engineering doesn’t just shape our world – it shapes our opportunities, our communities, and the futures we can imagine for ourselves and our children.”

We are also bringing E-Week into classrooms. Throughout the week, our employees are conducting hands-on STEM activities with nearly 3,300 students across our footprint.

Through partnerships with local schools, employees are visiting kindergarten through high school classrooms. We will teach them about careers in engineering through hands-on activities ranging from building bridges to constructing towers.

“The range of Engineers Week activities at Olsson is designed to showcase the possibilities of an engineering career to the next generation, and to celebrate engineers for all they do,” said  Sarah  Mullen, who organized the firm’s E-Week activities. "Throughout the week it is priceless to see the student’s enjoyment and interest in classroom activities, as well as the excitement from our employees to partake in E-Week volunteering and office competitions."
