Goodyear is one of the fastest growing cities in Arizona but lacked a significant space for people to gather for celebrations, concerts, or just some weekend fun.
For nearly four decades, city officials worked toward creating the community hub people desired.
The $87 million Goodyear Civic Square came about through a joint public-private venture, and the project includes a two-acre park, a refreshed city hall, a two-story library, and a 100,000-square-foot Class A office space.
The development was made possible through a partnership between the City of Goodyear and Globe Corporation, which owned the land where the civic square will be located. We worked with both the city and Globe Corporation to design the Goodyear Civic Square, partnering with Ryan, a construction and development company, and Butler, an architect firm in Goodyear.
We committed to helping the community successfully expand and collaborated with the city every step of the way. The Goodyear City Council approved the project agreement in August 2019, and the Goodyear Civic Square will open for business in the summer of 2022.
We provided survey services, civil engineering, and master utility studies and plans for water, sanitary, sewer, and stormwater. We also prepared a thorough planned area development (PAD) zone and development design standards for the landscape, streets, and drainage plans.
During the construction phase, we will assist with construction administration and contractor submittals.
The Goodyear Civic Square is expected to bring food trucks, festivals, and parades to the area. New entertainment, restaurants, retail, and jobs are anticipated to follow.
Best of all – Goodyear finally has a state-of-the-art space where the community can come together.
